Vector Illustration Project

When working in adobe illustrator I never thought I would be at the place where I am now especially considering how daunting this project looked and I had a really good time working with the illustration and graphically designing something that had a close meaning and feeling. I didn't know that you could directly pull a color from an image and trace over it. I also learned how to manage my layering and that you couldn't just put players randomly and keeping them organized was definitely key to success and overall appeal. Problem solving was tricky because I didn't want to have to start over with drawings or a certain portion of the face so it might have been as simple as a color change or maybe re-doing a shape but managing that was definitely a challenge and trying to keep the illustration to the picture. As I went on with the project using the pen tool definitely got easier and eventually it was just like drawing and came quite natural to me. I feel that with the Vectors the way created my art was a lot more lenient and felt more relaxed since it was more cartoonish and I was recreating an image and not editing the image itself.

Making the vector illustrations it was a little bit challenging at first bot other than that it wasn't too bad after the first couple of days when using the Pen tool. Also at first, I was just confused in general on how to layer and make the the work neat. I then realized that I had to start by making the shapes of the head and nose in their each layer folder and keep those neat and making sure that I didn't cross the different layers. Getting the color down was another challenge of times since you had to find the exact pixel that the whole image looked like and making sure the colors didn't turn out weird.

Think that this project turned out really well for it being my first time recreating pictures and trying to make them as realistic as possible and that is a skill I would like to improve on. I think this will definitely help me in the future with other projects Busch as more cards, infographics or really any project with cartoons or images that can represent a theme or idea. Making a career out of this would seem pretty hard to me since for these types of projects I need a lot of time and being put under pressure could be difficult and I wouldn't be too comfortable.
